Kyle Farris Memorial Fund

Kyle Michael “Awesome Kyle” Farris, age 4 and a resident of Head of Island, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was born May 24, 2006. He was the light of our lives, a true angel among us. He is survived by his loving parents, Gary Stephen and Rita Avants Farris; brother, Garret James Farris; sister, Faith Gabrielle Farris; grandparents, William Hardy and Gary Farris Sr.; uncles and aunts, Amy and Ben Bufkin, Allen and Ashley Avants, Mary Avants, Michael and Angelle Avants, Craig and Melissa Farris, Felicia, Brandon, Blake and Bailey Farris; honorary uncle, John “Milk” Pourciau; first cousins, Chase, Cameron and Casey Avants, Lance Cpl. Cory, Channing and Sean Reis, and Devin, Lance, Ryan and Raelynn Farris; along with a large extended family. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William and Wanda Avants; and paternal grandmother, Mary Catherine “Kathy” Hardy. Visitation was at St. Joseph Church, Rev. James Kinkead Parish Hall, in French Settlement, Friday. Visitation resumed at the church Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment was in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Head of Island. Pallbearers were John “Milk” Pourciau, Adam Hebert, Par Callahan and Douglas Huggins. Honorary pallbearers were Chase Avants and Devin Farris. Our family circle has been temporarily broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us back home one by one, the circle will complete again. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Kyle Michael Farris to any Hancock Bank.
